While I was in Barberton, I hung out with the paragliders taking part in the national champs there (see my blog). The guys collected R1800 for a local charity, St John’s orphanage for HIV kids, and one of them, Stef of Parapax tandem paragliding from Cape town who has a clowning background, did a show for the kids and handed over the money one morning. The take off was the best part- I never felt my heart beat that fast in my chest before- and once we were gliding in the air, I felt like I was headed for heaven. The scenery was magical. Something I strongly recommend.
