Parapax is South Africa’s premier Tandem Paragliding company. Formed in 2001, it is South Africa’s oldest tandem company, started by Stef Juncker (owner and competition pilot) with a vision to share their passion for free flight with others. As a registered adventure company and with 14 years full-time experience, we have over 12 000 accident-free flights.  We’ve flown with supermodels, film stars, famous musicians and springbok rugby players to the boy next door. Many happy folks have experienced the joy of free flight and motorised tandem paragliding with us. From 3 year old children (who are never scared and always want the big aerobatics) to a brave lady who insisted on flying with us before she turned …. 91! An assisted takeoff (2 gents holding the dear “young” dame up as we took off in perfect wind from Signal Hill.)

From Blind to deaf, wheelchair bound and disabled passengers, we paraglide nearly anyone!

As Cape Town’s most reputable tandem paragliding company, we respect the fact that you arrive on time, and so do we.  Providing all that’s needed for an excellent flying experience is important to us and only flying when it’s safe to. Safety is our number 1 priority and we take no chances with anybody’s wellbeing.

All Parapax pilots hold officially recognized licences. SAHPA is the South African Hang-gliding and paragliding association and falls under CAA. Our pilots are all internationally qualified and have vast experience. Stef Juncker, owner, has over 11 000 flights! Some of our pilots even hold world records in paragliding, like Tom Erzen and Tania from Slovenia who flew for 8hrs25mins doing the world’s furthest out-and-return TANDEM flight – 158km that took 8 hours 20mins to do! Extreme adventure, but so worth it!  Our Pilots Igor Todevski  and Herminio Cordido are number 4 and 5 in the world in their disciplines – and considering that there are half a million people who paraglide in the world – that’s not too shabby!

Of our pilots gain experience flying hang glider tandem flights as well as paragliders all around the world – India, New Zealand, USA, Canada, Turkey, all through Europe and even Venezuela!

We started this company as we are passionate about flying and we want this contagious sensation to be passed onto our highly valued clients! We love what we do and are eager to share share the excitement with you.

During the winter months here in Cape Town, some of our pilots travel to Europe and fly tandems professionally in Austria, Switzerland, France and India, . This keep us in line with the latest safety, equipment and technological trends in the world’s most developed nations, making Parapax a world-class company!

The Parapax pilots speak over 11 languages, including English, French, German, Spanish, Dutch, Afrikaans, Russian, Hindi amongst others.

Belgian born, Fun-loving, carefree and confident. Stef only wants to do things the right way! Safe, efficient and entertaining. His humour is contagious and clown-like (Maybe a trait from the past).
